Use YourESA Funds Here

Morrissette Martial Arts is proud to accept Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account funds. Every K–12 student in Arizona is eligible — and martial arts training qualifies as an approved educational expense.

What is ESA?

A New Way
To Educate

Arizona’s Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) is a state-funded program that puts your child’s education tax dollars directly into your hands. Instead of those funds going to a public or charter school, parents manage them through a dedicated account and use them on the educational services that work best for their family.

Since the 2022 universal expansion, every Arizona student in grades K–12 is eligible — regardless of household income, neighborhood, or whether they currently attend public, private, charter, or homeschool. Preschool students with disabilities are also eligible.

Over 100,000 Arizona families are now using ESA funds to customize their children’s education — and martial arts training is one of the most powerful ways to invest those funds.

Why Martial Arts?

More Than Self-Defense

Discipline & Focus

Students learn to follow instructions, stay focused under pressure, and push through challenges. These habits transfer directly into the classroom and beyond.

Confidence & Character

The belt system gives students clear, measurable goals. Earning each rank through real effort builds genuine self-belief that carries far beyond the dojo.

Respect & Social Skills

Every class begins and ends with respect — for instructors, peers, and self. Students build communication and teamwork in a structured environment with peers of all ages.

Physical Development

Coordination, balance, flexibility, and fitness improve with every class. Skills they’ll carry for life — built into the foundation of how they move.

Why Morrissette

A Studio
Built On Trust

Master Erik Morrissette is a 7th Degree Black Belt with over 50 years of martial arts experience. He has trained hundreds of students — from three-year-olds taking their very first class, to adults discovering martial arts later in life. His method is built on patience, structure, and genuine investment in every student.

For ESA families specifically, our studio offers something invaluable: a real curriculum, measurable progress through the belt system, and an instructor who has spent decades understanding how to bring out the best in kids of every personality and ability level.

Whether your child has a 504 plan, an IEP, or simply needs a structured environment to grow in, Morrissette Martial Arts is built to serve them. We’re experienced with neurodivergent students, sensory-sensitive kids, and children who haven’t found their fit elsewhere.

ESA Questions

Everything You Need
To Know

Is Morrissette Martial Arts an approved Arizona ESA vendor?

Yes. We're an approved Arizona ESA vendor — families use their funds through ClassWallet to cover Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Weapons Training tuition at our Litchfield Park studio.

What is the ESA program and who qualifies?

Arizona's Empowerment Scholarship Account program gives every K–12 Arizona student access to state education funds — no income test, no requirement to have attended public school first. Over 100,000 AZ families already participate.

How much can my ESA fund cover for classes here?

Award amounts are set annually by the state and vary by grade — typically $4,000–$7,000/year, with higher amounts for students with an IEP or 504 plan. Confirm your exact award at azed.gov/esa, or contact us and we'll help you figure out how far it goes.

How do I actually pay using ClassWallet?

Once your ESA account is active, you'll find us listed as an approved vendor in your ClassWallet marketplace. Select our programs and funds transfer directly — no reimbursement forms, no money out of pocket.

Do I need ESA approval before my child's first class?

No. Your first class is free with no commitment either way. Plenty of families try a class first, then set up or activate their ESA funds afterward — we'll help with ClassWallet whenever you're ready.

Which programs qualify for ESA funding?

Little Ninjas, Kids Taekwondo, Teen & Adult Taekwondo, Hapkido, and Weapons Training are all available through ESA/ClassWallet funding as tuition under your ESA contract.
